BEATITUDE (be-attitude)
Supreme Blessedness or Happiness
A beatitude is a literary form common in both the Old Testament and New Testament
of the bible which consists of a short cry of joy like "You happy man!" which can be expanded to include a reason for the
person's good existing state of happiness, represents an approving proclamation of fact, and contains an evaluative judgement.
It is a proclamation of happiness, not merely a promise (though in the beatitudes of Jesus a promise is joined to it).
The preaching of Jesus begins as a cry of joy, as good news (Matthew 5:3-12; Luke
6:20-23). This joy is based on the nearness of the Kingdom of God. Luke gives four of them, and the first three
of these are short and based on Isaiah 61:1-4. These represent God's care for the poor, the hungry and those who weep.
Matthew's list of ten adds some desirable qualities, justice, being pure of heart, merciful and peacemakers. This is
a program of Christian life, a series of virtues.
I ask that you read these verses from the Bible. If you are not yet a Chrisitian
(believing and proclaiming that Jesus Christ is our Lord and saviour, I ask that you read Romans 10 verses 9 and 10.
What I have written above is for your learning and saving of your soul. It is
very important!
If there are things you want to share, contact us or participate in the blog and we
can discuss them together.
May God Bless You. . .

A special note from the founder. .
Why The Beatitude?
I want to make a differene in my community, which is in Columbus, GA. I needed meaning in my life.
I am a Christian. I have a wonderful family and friends, but there was still something missing. I've always felt
I could do more.
As a child I was always helping someone out of something, and found great joy in doing so. I care, even
when it seems no one else does. I need to inspire, give a helping hand, not a handout. I wish for others to do the same.
That's why The Beatitude was founded.
I will invoke a sense of decency and order that others may be craving. I know I was as a
child. And I did everything in my power to find it. I want the participants, donaters, and volunteers to feel
welcome. I wish them to feel comfort, love, and ease when they visit. They should also leave with that same
feeling.
Filled, would be one word to describe it. Face it, everybody needs somebody, and if I could be that person,
it would mean the world to me.
One Love
